Internet TechTuber and rumour monger, Moore’s Law is Dead (MLID), recently shared 3D renders of what he believes could be NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 at launch. Specifically, they commissioned a 3D design artist to produce renders of what the card would like with the Founders Edition cooler shroud.

While it is technically just an artistic rendition, the RTX 4070 renders shows where MLID’s mind is at with the card. Like the RTX 30 Series and the more recently launched RTX 4090, these renders show a card utilising NVIDIA’s Dual Axis Flow Through cooling design, with one axial fan each installed on opposite sides of the card.

Again, assuming these renders of the RTX 4070 are to be believed, it won’t be the first time NVIDIA implemented the design to a “mid-range” GPU. Last year, NVIDIA launched the RTX 3070 Ti, which also used the same cooling solution and was actually a sharp change from the initial front-facing dual-fan configuration, first used with the other mid-range Ampere GPU, the RTX 3070.

While Founders Edition coolers may look virtually identical, there are some differences that set them apart, if you pay close enough attention to them. In the case of these RTX 4070 renders, the card actually looks more akin to the RTX 3080 in terms of structure, all-around.

There there is the fan design of the alleged RTX 4070. If the RTX 4090 has been any indication, MLID believes that the axial fans on the mid-range GPU could sport fewer but much thicker blades, coupled with the aforementioned thicker and bigger heatsink design, which could end up providing better static pressure when cooling the GPU.

MLID claims that these renders of the RTX 4070 are about 99% accurate and based on real and existing photographs, but as always, we do recommend that you take them with the usual dosing of salt. For another matter, it is still unconfirmed whether the card is going to be the renamed and relabelled RTX 4080 12GB, which NVIDIA unceremoniously “unlaunched” earlier this month.
