Ayer Hitam mosques, surau given RM196,000 for Ramadan programmes, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: A total of RM196,000 has been given to 32 mosques and 100 surau in Ayer Hitam to organise programmes in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said this was a yearly tradition that he had been carrying out since he was elected as Ayer Hitam MP in 2004.

“After the presentation ceremony, I had the opportunity to break fast with the leaders of the mosques and surau, as well as Ayer Hitam Umno division committee members.

“I also interacted with all the leaders of the mosques and surau in Ayer Hitam,” he said in a Facebook post Sunday (Apr 17).

Dr Wee said he wsa happy to be able to help serve the mutton briyani and mango milk drinks to the attendees to break their fast.

Also present were Yong Peng assemblyman and state executive councillor Ling Tian Soon and Ayer Hitam Umno deputy chief Kamal Haron, who represented Semarang assemblyman Datuk Samsol Bari Jamali.
