Back govt policies, Chinese NGOs told

KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese non-governmental organisations (NGO) should support government policies, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

In a Facebook post on Friday (May 20), the Transport Minister said he had a meeting with NGO leaders when he was in Kuala Terengganu.

“After completing a working visit to Labuan, I am currently in Kuala Terengganu to attend the Aidilfitri 2022 open house organised by the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry together with the Terengganu state government.

“Before that, I took this opportunity to have a meeting with the leaders of Chinese NGOs in Terengganu,” said Dr Wee, who is also MCA president.

He said in the meeting, he called on Chinese NGOs to support government policies and promised that government leaders would always listen to the grievances of the people.

“The relationship between leaders and the grassroots must also remain close, strong and strengthened so that we can provide the best service to the community,” he said.
