BN winning GE15 will provide political stability, allowing Perak to grow, says Saarani

IPOH: Tabling an anti-party hopping law will be one of things Perak Barisan Nasional will do when they win GE15, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The caretaker Perak Mentri Besar said it was among several initiatives in its “Stability for Prosperity” manifesto for the state to ensure political stability.

He also said that Barisan would also amend the state constitution to appoint state representatives from minority groups and youth, if it can get a two-thirds majority.

“The Sabah Legislative Assembly has amended its state constitution allowing them to appoint up to six state representatives without an election.

“After that, they (Sabah) became more stable. It also happened in Pahang,” he said, adding that appointed state representatives were similar to senators in the Dewan Rakyat.

He said Barisan winning the polls would allow political stability, which would in turn “allow the economy to grow, the creation of jobs, influx of investors and to create a new political narrative for the betterment of the state and its people.”

Saarani said Barisan’s manifesto was planned based on careful studies, which was also used for the 2030 Perak Sejahtera Development Plan launched in June.

“We will prepare the state to face future challenges. Our commitment is to build a bright future for the people,” he said.
