KOTA KINABALU: An armed man, who was seen in a tussle with another motorcyclist in a viral video, has been nabbed.

The incident was reported to have occurred around 8.45am in Benoni, Papar, on Wednesday (Feb 23) morning.

It is learnt that the suspect, a local in his 30s, was trying to rob someone when a delivery man overpowered him.

It is said that other road users had also come to help and detain the suspect while waiting for police to arrive.

Papar OCPD Deputy Supt Batholomew Umpit, who confirmed the incident, said that they arrested the suspect after the incident was reported.

“A pistol was also confiscated,” he said.

However, he said that the police are checking whom the pistol actually belongs to.

DSP Batholomew said other details are still being gathered with regards to this case.
