JOHOR BARU: A man in his 20s was arrested for doing a wheelie stunt while riding a motorcycle with his daughter sitting in his lap at Taman Impian Emas, Skudai, here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Rupeah Abd Wahid said the suspect had intentionally conducted the act with help from a friend who recorded his action before uploading a video of the stunt to his Facebook page.

“The act was allegedly done at Jalan Bukit Impian 1, Taman Impian Emas.

“The video was recorded using the suspect’s own phone before it was uploaded at about 7pm on Feb 15,” she said in a statement here on Thursday (Feb 17).

ACP Rupeah added that a total of three summonses were issued under Section 14, Section 15(1)(A) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 and Section PU(A)043/73-004 for not wearing safety gear.

The case is investigated under Section 42 of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.

Earlier, a 41-second video was uploaded to Facebook showing a man doing a wheelie with a child on his lap.

At the time of writing, the video has gained more than 19,000 views with close to 500 shares.

There are also similar videos on the suspect’s Facebook page showing him performing the same stunt to promote his shop.
