Cuepacs, MEF say Cabinet line-up possesses credibility, ability to work hard

PETALING JAYA: Employers and public service employees trust that the newly-appointed Cabinet ministers possess the credibility to assume their duties and work in the best interests of Malaysia.

Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public Service (Cuepacs) secretary-general Abdul Rahman Mohd Nordin hoped that the mix of old and new faces in the ministries would be able to work together with the public servants for the nation’s interest.

“I don’t see any issues with the list of ministers, there are those with experience and there are also those who are newcomers.

“We hope the ministers will give cooperation to the public servants and perform to their utmost in the interest of the nation,” he said.

Commenting on Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s appointment despite having a court case, Abdul Rahman said the former prime minister is innocent as long as he has not been convicted.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman said all the Cabinet ministers appointed have the qualities needed which include honesty, transparency and vast knowledge of the current issues.

He however expressed hope that the newly-elected ministers would always take into account the people’s views and needs, and treat any issues with urgency.

“MEF hopes that the Cabinet members will work hard for the rakyat, businesses and the nation,” he said.
