Digi Stores To Turn Into Pokemon Go Gyms From 3 September To 15 October

Digi Pokemon Go

The location-based AR mobile game Pokemon Go is still going strong, with multiple raids serving as a source of legendary Pokemon for the game. The next raid though will be taking place in a pretty unexpected location – Digi Stores. In a partnership between the two companies, the telco is turning 237 of its stores throughout the country into temporary Gyms.

This temporary campaign starts later this week, on 3 September, and will last until 15 October. Pokemon Go players can also head to any of the participating Digi Store Gyms to participate in a raid against Deoxys in all four of its forms. In general, each gym will host one raid in a day, but since this campaign starts this weekend, the first two days will see each gym host four raids in a day.

Sweetening the deal to all Pokemon Go players, Digi customers or otherwise, is a free code that all players can use to redeem an exclusive in-game bundle worth RM10. This includes a premium raid pass. All that you need to do to get the code is to spend RM5 or more on any transaction at the Digi Self-Service Kiosks at the participating Digi Stores. This includes paying your postpaid bills or topping up prepaid credits for other telcos. But as you’d expect, these are only available while stocks last.

On top of that, the first 50 players to walk into five specific Digi Stores on 3 September will get an additional in-game bundle worth RM30. These are the stores in Sunway Pyramid, Alamanda Putrajaya, The Gardens, One Utama and Taman Molek.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Digi campaign if it benefits all Pokemon Go players. Specific to Digi customers, there’s a special Unlimited Pokemon Go Pass that gives you unlimited internet access to the game for seven days. This costs RM5. Prepaid customers who “purchase or renew their prepaid plans” will be entitled to receive RM5 in credit, so they can get the pass mentioned above. Though this only applies to the Prepaid NEXT 35, 34 and RDY prepaid plans. The telco’s official Facebook page will also be hosting a “Guess that Pokemon” contest, with a Pokemon Funko Pop figure worth RM60 as the prize.
