Director of state GLC arrested in RM1.7mil contract probe

KLANG: A marketing development director of a state government-linked company has been hauled in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

According to sources, the man was detained when he presented himself at the Selangor MACC office on Monday (Aug 29) afternoon.

The man, who is in his 50s, is being investigated for allegedly appointing a company belonging to his relative and granting it a RM1.7mil contract.

The source added that the man had allegedly granted the contract to his relative’s company via direct negotiations in March 2020.

Selangor MACC director Datuk Alias Salim confirmed the man’s detention and added that the man was expected to be charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Tuesday (Aug 30).
