Electoral pact with Pakatan sets the stage for GE15 and beyond, says Sabah Muda

KOTA KINABALU: The electoral pact between Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) and Pakatan Harapan will not only aid efforts in Sabah for GE15 but for future polls as well.

Sabah Muda chairman Amos Thien said this was a good development and a sign that the party was now regarded as a genuine political contender.

“This partnership allows Sabah Muda and Sabah Pakatan to work closely – not only during GE15 but for the 17th Sabah election in the future as well.

“It is a common knowledge that Sabah Muda and Sabah Pakatan leaders have a close relationship, even before the party was officially registered.

“Both parties understand and agree that a united Opposition is the only way to stand against Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS),” he said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 13).

Thien said that Sabah Muda was eyeing several parliament seats and discussions are currently ongoing.

He added that the final decision would be announced by Sabah Muda and Sabah Pakatan as both parties have autonomy on state matters.
