Federal Govt committed to continuously improve air travel in Sarawak, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The Federal Government will find ways to continuously improve air travel services in Sarawak, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic).

The Transport Minister said that his ministry, through Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), will work to improve services in Sarawak’s Kuching International Airport, as well as six domestic airports and 11 STOLports.

“Chaired a meeting between Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who is MP for Bintulu and newly elected assemblyman for Dudong and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad today.

“MAHB managing director Datuk Iskandar Mizal Mahmood and his team were with us to discuss ways to optimise the operations of the airports not only in Sibu and Bintulu, but also throughout the state,” he said on Facebook on Friday (Dec 24).

Dr Wee thanked Tiong for his thoughts on improving airports in Bintulu and Sibu including better maintenance, and expansion prospects to meet the future needs of Sarawak’s aviation industry.
