SEGAMAT: A senior citizen was found dead, believed to have drowned in floodwaters here.

Segamat Fire Station chief Muhd Hazim Abd Razak said the 63-year-old man was reported missing from Kampung Serakek, Batu Anam here at around 3pm on Thursday (Jan 6).

“A boat was deployed along with nine personnel to conduct a surface search near the victim’s motorcycle where he was last seen.

“At 4.49pm on Friday (Jan 7), we found the victim’s body some 50m from his last known location,” he said, adding that the man was believed to have drowned.

Muhd Hazim added the body was handed over to the police for follow-up action.
