GE15: Khairy criticises Pakatan over Sg Buloh flood woes

PETALING JAYA: Despite Pakatan Harapan’s administration of the state government for three terms, flash floods remained a recurring issue in Sungai Buloh, says Barisan Nasional’s Khairy Jamaluddin.

“The state government, the state assemblymen, and the town councillors are under Pakatan.

“I want to ask residents, is it true that there are recurring floods here?” Khairy questioned.

The Barisan candidate for the Sungai Buloh parliamentary candidate was speaking to residents in Bukit Rahman Putra.

Bukit Rahman Putra was one of the areas badly affected during the nationwide floods that took place in December last year.

Khairy also criticised Pakatan for always pointing fingers to others over the perennial flood issue.

“This place always floods and who do they blame? The state government is under them (Pakatan),” said Khairy.

“So, you must pick an MP who can fight them and fight for all of you,” added Khairy.

Aside from floods, various issues remained in Sungai Buloh, such as problems affecting the people’s housing project (PPR), said Khairy.

“So, this time around, you must bring change to Sungai Buloh. Give a chance to Khairy and Barisan, and I promise I will take good care of you,” added Khairy.

Caretaker Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who spoke after Khairy, also questioned Pakatan’s achievement when they were the government for 22-months since 2018.

“Did they abolish the PTPTN and tolls? Instead, they cancelled projects. For 22 months, projects did not progress,” said Hishammuddin.

Hishammuddin urged locals in Sungai Buloh not to waste this opportunity to make a change.

“Let Khairy win and I promise, I will be here to assist him in fulfilling his manifesto pledges,” added Hishammuddin.

Khairy will be locked in a seven-cornered fight against PKR’s R. Ramanan, Perikatan’s Mohd Ghazali Md Hamin, Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Ahmad Zuhri Faisal, Pejuang’s Mohd Akmal Mohd Yusoff and two independents – Mohd Akmal Mohd Yusoff and Syed Razak Alsagoff.
