Gigabyte Confirms Existence Of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, RTX 4060

Gigabyte, one of NVIDIA’s biggest AIB partners for its graphics cards, has seemingly confirmed the existence of the latter’s unreleased mid-range and entry-level GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060. As to where the confirmation is, it was found within the brand’s own Control Center software.

The discovery was posted by Videocardz, who found the names for both the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 being listed as part of the latest support that would be provided with Gigabyte’s latest Control Center software. That version is 23.03.02.01 and thankfully, the brand’s naming convention for its products, making it relatively easy to disseminate products.

In this case, the Gigabyte Control Centre listed a GV-N4070AERO OC-12, which is an RTX 4070 Aero OC 12GB, and the GV-N4060Gaming OC-8GD, which is an RTX 4060 Gaming OC 8GB.

These listings on the Gigabyte Control Center summary list of updates confirms earlier reports for both the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060. To recap, the RTX 4070 is set to be the fourth installment of the NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace series, and based on the rumours, will have a Founders Edition version after the GPU brand skipped out on giving the RTX 4070 Ti said cooler. Specs-wise, the card is expected to use the AD104 GPU, have 5888 CUDA cores, and will run with 12GB GDDR6 graphics memory, and not the faster and more powerful GDDR6X.

Likwise, the RTX 4060 would also be running on the same AD104 GPU and GDDR6 memory module, but is expected to have a lesser CUDA core count of 4352. Adding on to that, the card will also only feature 8GB of graphics memory and run with a 128-bit memory bus and a TDP consumption of 160W, versus the expected 200W of the 4070.

Gigabyte lack of control notwithstanding, the RTX 4070 is expected to hit the market next month and more specifically, 13 April. There’s still no official launch date for the RTX 4060 but again, if the Taiwan-based PC components maker isn’t bothered to hide its existence, then it isn’t entirely wrong to believe that it could come sooner, rather than later.
