Huawei Malaysia has recently teased the local arrival of its Apple Watch Ultra challenger, the Huawei Watch Ultimate, via its official Facebook page. As you may recall, we first discovered a listing of the brand’s premium wearable in SIRIM’s database not long after its launch in China back in March this year.

To recap, the Watch Ultimate sports a zirconium-based liquid metal case, along with a ceramic bezel and rear case, 2.3 mm sapphire glass screen protection, and a choice of either a HNBR rubber or titanium alloy straps. It complies with ISO 22810:2010 and EN 13319 standards, and is also rated at 10 ATM – meaning that it is capable of withstanding pressure equivalent to 100 metres of still water depth for 10 minutes.

On the new smartwatch is a 1.5-inch circular LTPO AMOLED touchscreen with 466 x 466 pixel resolution, a rotating crown on the top-right, and two pusher buttons on both sides. Also onboard are numerous sensors that can track heart rate, air pressure, depth and so on, along with a built-in speaker, microphone, and also GPS, NFC and Bluetooth support.

There’s also Strava and Runtastic integrations, and a new Expedition Mode which uses dual-frequency five-system GNSS positioning capabilities to provide accurate mapping and positioning. Being a smartwatch, it also features notifications, remote calling, music playback and other typical functions.
