Istana Negara disaster relief team helps flood victims in Jerantut

KUALA LUMPUR: The Istana Negara Disaster Relief Team has continued its relief mission to help flood victims by donating necessities and cash to 41 families in Kampung Yong and Kampung Atok, Kuala Tahan in Jerantut, Pahang.

6pm, also involved the participation of the Telekom Malaysia Reaching Out Volunteers (TMROVers) Team.

The relief mission was led by Istana Negara Disaster Relief Team operations director Brig Jen Datuk Zahari Yahya, who is also the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s air force aide-de-camp.

He was accompanied by Army aide-de-camp Brig Jen Datuk Sharizan Wan Chik and Yayasan TM’s assistant Humanitarian Aid manager Nuraini Ishak.

“Istana Negara Disaster Relief Team volunteers and TMROVers also had to undertake a 30-minute boat ride from Kuala Tahan jetty to Kampung Yong and Kampung Atok,” said the statement Tuesday (Jan 11).

The joint mission between the Istana Negara Disaster Relief Team and TMROVers was the initiative of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and was accomplished with His Majesty’s consent.

“His Majesty had expressed his desire for the Istana Negara Disaster Relief Team to work with non-governmental parties or organisations in assisting the government machinery to provide assistance to flood victims,” according to the statement. – Bernama
