KL cops seize 7kg of ganja in raid, eight arrested

KUALA LUMPUR: Police seized over seven kilograms of ganja and arrested six men and two women in a series of raids here.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police first arrested a husband and wife aged 32 and 26 during a raid along Jalan Robertson, Bukit Bintang here.

“We seized 1.89kg of ganja during that raid.

“After interrogating the two suspects, we conducted two more raids around the Klang Valley and arrested five men and a woman,” he said in a statement on Saturday (April 2).

He said police also seized another 5.58kg of ganja.

“The six other suspects are aged from 19 to 40. This syndicate is believed to have been actively distributing drugs in the Klang Valley since November last year,” he said.

ACP Noor Dellhan said the drugs are worth at least RM41,500.

“The eight suspects have been remanded for seven days.

“One suspects tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamines,” he said, adding that the case had been classified as drug trafficking under Section 39B of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
