A new leak has revealed the designs and specifications for two allegedly upcoming mobile phone gimbals by DJI. According to WinFuture’s Roland Quandt, these include the flagship Osmo Mobile (OM) 6 and the more affordable OM SE. Both of which retain the magnetic phone mount that can be conveniently detached when not used.

While it may look somewhat similar to its predecessor at first glance, the DJI OM 6 actually features a new design as well as controls. Seen on top of its control stick and dual buttons is what appears to be an indicator bar which may display the different modes that the user is currently using. Meanwhile, situated on the left side of the gimbal’s grip is a new knob that is said for controlling zoom and focus levels, replacing the slide controls from the OM 5.

Making a return on the newer model is the extension rod that connects its phone mount to the grip, while found on the bottom is a screw port for attaching the included tripod legs. In terms of hardware, Quandt says the OM 6 features 3-axis stabilisation and a new ActiveTrack 5.0 system, as well as a built-in 1,000 mAh battery that allows for 6.5 hours of operation. A full charge is claimed to take only 1.5 hours via USB-C. Besides that, the new gimbal is said to be capable of supporting smartphones that weigh up to 290 g.

Next up, we have the DJI OM SE. According to the pictures provided by the leakster, this model mostly bears a resemblance to Osmo Mobile 4 that was released back in 2020. While it is also shown to feature the same indicator bar from the OM 6, the device lacks the new knob control for zooming. Instead, it relies on the old slide controls, much like the aforementioned OM 4 and last year’s model. Weight-wise, the DJI OM SE is said to be heavier than this year’s flagship model, coming in at 352 g.

Besides that, the leakster adds that the more affordable gimbal does not come with the built-in extension rod, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In terms of battery specifications, it is said to feature a larger 2,600 mAh battery that allows for eight hours of running time, though it still won’t hold a candle to the OM 4’s more impressive 15-hour battery life.

As for pricing, it is suggested that the OM 6 will retail at EUR 179 (~RM) while the OM SE is priced at EUR 109 (~RM). It is still not known when exactly DJI is expected to officially announce either smartphone gimbals, but given that the leaked images provided by Quandt appear to be promotional renders for both devices, it might not be long for their official launch to be held.
