Lenovo has unveiled its latest smartphone with flagship specs, the Legion Y70. The new device packs all the bells and whistles you would expect and it seems to be geared more towards general consumers unlike its previous flagship, which was specifically designed for mobile gaming enthusiasts.

The Legion Y70 sports a flat 6.67-inch OLED display with a high refresh rate of 144Hz — which can go down to 48Hz to save power — and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and X-axis vibration motors.

The phone runs on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm and can be configured with up to a whopping 16GB of RAM as well as 512GB of storage. To handle the heat from the high-end processor, Lenovo equipped the device with a vapour chamber alongside 10 layers of heat dissepation mechanisms.

The back of the Legion Y70 houses a three-camera setup that uses a 50MP main shooter with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the centre-aligned punch hole cutout contains a 16MP lens. As for connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.2, but lacks an audio jack.

Lenovo managed to pack a large 5,100mAh in the aluminium chassis, with support for 68W wired charging but no wireless charging. The company claims that the phone can charge from empty to 80% in just 34 minutes. Software-wise, it runs on ZUi 14 based on Android 12.

The Lenovo Legion Y70 comes in three colours: black, silver, and red. The starting price of the phone is CNY2,970 (~RM1,954) for the 8GB+256GB variant, CNY3,370 (~RM2,217) for 12GB+256GB, and CNY4,270 (~RM2,809) for the 16GB + 512GB configuration. It goes on sale in China on 22 August, but the company has yet to announce the availability of the phone in international markets.
