Man killed after car crashes into tree near Batu Pahat

BATU PAHAT: A 36-year-old man has been killed after his vehicle crashed into a tree at KM14 Jalan Muar-Yong Peng here.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said that the incident occurred at 2pm on Sunday (Aug 21) when the victim was driving from Yong Peng towards Sri Medan.

“Investigations revealed that the victim lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a tree on the right side of the road.

“The victim suffered serious internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the location,” he said in a statement.

ACP Ismail added that the Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Department removed his body from the vehicle and sent his remains to the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI) for a post-mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Meanwhile, Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Department operations commander senior officer Mohd Hafiz Othman said that the team arrived at the scene at 2.08pm with one fire truck and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) van.

“The victim has been identified as Mohd Nasir Ahmad and was pronounced dead at the location by the medical team that arrived at the location,” he said.
