MySejahtera Now Requires A Photo For COVID-19 Self-Test Reports

MySejahtera now requires photographic evidence of your COVID-19 test results when you report it to the health authorities. The new policy was implemented through update v1.1.7 that was rolled out earlier this month for Android, iOS, and Huawei.

In addition to that, the reporting process is now also done in-app, whereas it previously took you to a web form the MySejahtera website. Placed under the “COVID-19 Self-Report” section of the home page, you can start the reporting process by choosing the “Update COVID-19 Result” option which will then provide a list to update for yourself and any registered dependents.

A buffer screen will then appear which ask you whether you or your dependents are COVID-19 positive and if you like to proceed with the reporting process. It is indeed a rather odd question but it doesn’t really matter though as you can actually specify the result of your test in the report form which will appear once you press the Start button.

The report form also includes questions such as where the test was taken, the type of test, and the date it was taken. You will then have to upload proof of the result, so you may want to make it a habit to snap a photo of the results before you discard your test kits away.

With the ongoing surge of infections in the country that has resulted in five-figure daily cases, individuals are advised by the Ministry of Health to get tested before going to any event or when they are symptomatic. Regardless of whether they have any symptoms or not, guidelines now require those who are close contacts to self-quarantine for five to 10 days, depending on their vaccination status.
