Nothing Teases Ear (2) With Cryptic Beetle Tweet

Nothing Ear (2) box leak

Following the release of the Nothing Ear (1), and the Ear (Stick) variant, leaks of the successor, simply dubbed the Ear (2), started making the rounds on the internet. Following renders of the earbuds that first surfaced back in October last year, the company is now doing its own teasing of its upcoming audio product.

Posted on the brand’s official Twitter account, Nothing posted an image of the head of a rhinoceros beetle. The accompanying emoji and text reads”ladybug out, beetle in”. It is cryptic to say the least, and there’s a lot of reading into that is possible with this. But depending on the way you look at it, this suggests the new insect replacing the old one. And with the ladybug being pretty prominent with the marketing of the Nothing Ear (1), this suggests that the beetle will be the bug to represent the sequel model.

From what we’ve seen last year, the Nothing Ear (2) will look mostly similar to the predecessor model. The buds themselves look to have the similar clear plastic shell, with Ear (2) written on the side. It even comes in a very similar clear carrying and charging case, which also looks a tad cleaner due to the lack of texturing.

As for the tech in the Nothing Ear (2), serial leakster OnLeaks claims via Smartprix that it will sport things like Personalised ANC, Advanced EQ, dual connectivity as well as a Find Earbuds feature. No description on the way that last one works, but it will be convenient if one of them ever gets misplaced. Also included here are a clearer bunch of renders, though there are some notable differences from the earlier render. Specifically, the Nothing brand name on the stem, next to the Ear (2) name.

With the official teaser campaign starting, it will only be a matter of time before Nothing shares an announcement date for the Ear (2). No timeline for this yet, though.
