NVIDIA Accidentally Confirms Existence Of GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

With the launch of NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti’s launch just days away, you would think that the GPU maker would do anything and everything to keep its existence under wraps, blatantly or otherwise. Alas, the company seems to have made an “oopsie” by confirming its existence in a recommended specs sheet.

The specs sheet in which the RTX 4070 Ti was listed came from NVIDIA’s Omniverse View’s main page. For the uninitiated, Omniverse View is a platform that allows professional designers and 3D artists to share their projects and even let others jump in on said projects and allowing them to make their own changes or add notes to specific areas on the fly.

The RTX 4070 Ti was listed under the GPU element, under the Omniverse View’s recommended settings. Other hardware specs on under that column include Windows 10, Ubuntu 18.04, or CentOS7 as the default operating system, either a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 Series or AMD Ryzen 7 7000 series CPU, 32GB RAM, and 250GB storage on an SSD. The biggest punchline to this story? At the time of writing, the GPU is still up on that page.

It is not an exaggeration when we say that this is the first time NVIDIA is (sort of) openly acknowledging the existence of the RTX 4070 Ti, let alone any of its GPUs ahead of their official launch. Whenever we’ve asked them to address whispers and rumours about unreleased products, the answer we get is the company’s boilerplate response: We do not comment on unfinished or unreleased products.

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is expected to be officially announced on 3 January during the company’s CES 2023 keynote. Formerly known as the GeForce RTX 4080 12GB before it was “unlaunched” back in October and renamed to the card it is now. The card is expected to be based on the AD104-400 that is based on the 4nm Ada Lovelace architecture, have 12GB GDDR6X of graphic memory, 7630 CUDA Cores, and a base and boost clock of 2.32GHz and 2.61GHz, respectively.
