PBS also eyeing Tenom parliamentary seat for GE15, says Ongkili

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) is also targetting to contest in the DAP-held Tenom parliamentary seat after eyeing Tuaran for GE15.

PBS president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili (pic) said this was their second parliamentary seat to aim for after announcing that they want to take on Tuaran recently.

He urged the party’s machinery to “start work immediately”.

He said PBS would like to “offer” its candidate to contest in Tenom because it was a party with over 37 years of experience.

Ongkili said this when opening at the PBS Melalap and Kemabong 37th annual general meeting on Saturday (April 9).

He stressed that from now until GE15, both the party’s divisions have a great task ahead to further strengthen its presence in Tenom.

Melalap is held by Datuk Peter Anthony of Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) while Kemabong is held by Rubin Balang of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Sabah.

Ongkili said that PBS has been consistent in voicing out against the large presence of undocumented migrants in Sabah, as well as crusading against leap-frogging politics.

PBS is part of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Barisan led state coalition.

GRS consist of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Sabah STAR and SAPP.
