PKR party elections postponed to May 13-18

PETALING JAYA: The PKR elections for the 2022-2025 term will be postponed to May 13-18, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution.

The party secretary-general said the postponement was in line with Clause 47.3 of the party constitution.

Malaysiakini cited a party circular about the postponement which said that the party elections for all posts, including the women’s and youth wings at branch level, would be held over the five days.

It also stated that the elections for the president, vice-president, and four deputy presidents as well as the women and youth’s wings at central level would also be held on those dates.

It added that nomination day for branch level would be from April 8-10 while nominations for the central leadership council positions is on April 11.

Saifuddin also said that the eligibility to vote would only be for PKR members who registered before or on Jan 31.

The party elections were supposed to be held sometime in April.
