Sabah allows dragon troupe performances for Chinese New Year

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will allow for dragon dance troupes to perform during the Chinese New Year celebrations from Jan 31 to Feb 15.

The state government in disclosing the standard operating procedures (SOP) for Chinese New Year said that all dance troupe performances were permitted on the condition that the troupes were fully vaccinated.

They are also to observe a one-meter physical distancing between guests was maintained, face masks and children under 12 years were not permitted to perform.

Disclosing the details, State Covid 19 spokesman Datuk Masidi Manjun (pic) said that police clearance was required for dance groups movements.

He said the state government would allow visiting and receptions to be held during the period but only for those fully vaccinated.

He said receptions would be only on invitations of the host and must be limited to 50% capacity of the premise.

Hosts should also put up the MySejahtera codes for visitors to scan or a record particulars of all guests.

Family reunion dinners on Jan 31, prayers on Feb 1 and 2, Hokkien Special Prayers on Feb 8 and 9, and Chap Goh Mei Prayers on Feb 15 were also permitted, he said.
