It is being reported by some owners of Samsung’s new Galaxy S22 Ultra of some odd but seemingly isolated issue on its display. Specifically, the issue appears to be a glitch that seems to manifest itself in the form of a line that one would normally see on a glitchy or broken panel.

As noted by Sammobile, the “pixelated line” seems to manifest itself horizontally across the display and more interestingly, it seems to appear in the same position across all the affected S22 Ultra units. The good news is that line goes away when users switch the display mode to Vivid, indicating that the problem could just be a software issue and not hardware.

On a related note, the issue of the pixelated lines seems to only affect S22 Ultra units rocking the Exynos 2200 SoC; units that are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset seem to be spared from the issue, though by right, such a problem shouldn’t even occur on such a high-end, premium device.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 Ultra earlier this month during its first Unpacked event of the year. The phone sports a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage capacity, and of course, the integration of the S Pen, making it the first Galaxy S device to carry on the Note feature. Around the back, the phone also sports a quad-camera setup, comprising a 108MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and two 10MP telephoto lenses rated for 3X and 10X Optical Zoom, respectively.
