Shopee Sellers Will Soon Have To Pay Return Postage Fees

Shopee has announced that starting 9 May, sellers will be charged with unsuccessful order fees charged by logistics partners for the Forward Shipping Fee (FSF) and the Return Shipping Fee (RSF). This is applicable for returns or refunds where the order is damaged, faulty, incomplete, wrong, or counterfeit.

That being said, there are some exceptions where the seller is exempt from paying return fees. This includes when the buyer did not receive the item from the courier, change of mind reasons, when no physical item is returned, or when the damage to goods is caused by logistics partners.

FSF is the actual shipping fee rate, charged by logistics partners which shipping fee rebates by Shopee, while RSF is the rate charged for the return delivery service. Sellers won’t be charged if the buyer opts for a non-Shopee Supported courier or if they fail to collect the order when using Self Collection, which is an option currently only available in Klang Valley.

In cases of returns and refunds, sellers will be charged for the fees upfront but they can then dispute it for any of the reasons previously mentioned. They will then be reimbursed immediately if they win the dispute with enough evidence.
