Suunto last announced a smartwatch back in November of last year, and now the company has revealed another. The new series is called the Suunto Vertical, which the brand has been teasing on its Facebook page over the past month. Now though, on its official site, the company has started listing the prices for the upcoming smartwatch series.
The Suunto Vertical comes in two variants – Stainless steel and Titanium solar. Both come with a 1.4-inch 280 x 280 screen, with a layer of sapphire crystal for scratch resistance, and is water-resistant up to 100m. The body measures in at 49 x 49 x 13.6 mm, and weighs 86g and 74g for the Stainless steel and Titanium solar models, respectively.
Beyond the bezel material, another defining difference between the two versions of the Suunto Vertical is that the latter also supports solar charging. This extends the battery life of the smartwatch pretty significantly. The company claims that when used just as a watch, the Stainless steel model can last for 60 days without charging. The Titanium solar mode, with the addition of solar charging, can extend this to up to a year. With constant tracking and mobile notifications, the battery life is instead rated at 30 and 60 days, respectively.
Being a smartwatch, you can expect the Suunto Vertical to come with all sorts of health and workout trackers. These range from the basics like heart rate and sleep tracking to more specialised features like training load and recovery, with workouts like running, cycling, and swimming being tracked.
As mentioned earlier, Suunto has revealed the price of the Vertical on its official website. For the Stainless steel models, these are priced at RM2,799. As for the Titanium solar variants, you’re looking at a RM3,799 price tag, which is quite a premium. According to Amanz, the company mentioned in one of its social media posts that the smartwatch will be available starting 9 June, but at the time of writing we did not see the date being mentioned.
