The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced that you can now walk-in once again to get your booster shot at any PPV nationwide starting from today. Walk-ins were previously barred due to concerns of overcrowding, but last week, selected mega PPVs in Klang Valley opened up for booster vaccinations without requiring appointments.

The walk-in method is open to all adult residents aged 18 and over, and the type of booster given will depend on the stocks available for each site. While the announcement does say “all PPVs nationwide”, the ministry advices those going to PPVs at private GP clinics for their booster to call ahead of time to avoid crowding and SOP breaches, given the limited space in these venues.

Those going for their booster jab are also reminded to make sure their digital vaccination certificates on MySejahtera are complete. For those without phones, they are allowed to bring their physical vaccination cards. The list of offsite and GP PPVs can be found at ProtectHealth’s website.

According to the national COVID-19 statistics site COVIDNOW, 50% of all Malaysian adults have gotten their boosters, as of 29 January. Due to the recent Omicron wave, COVID-19 infection cases have also been on an upward trend, with more than 5,000 daily cases in the past two days.
