Zahid and I to work out the best formula, leaving it to Sabah leaders to decide, says Anwar

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will work out the best formula to end the Sabah political crisis.

The Prime Minister said he and his deputy will look at the best formula and will leave it to the warring state political leaders to decide.

“The situation has improved. Zahid and I are trying to work out the best formula for Sabah.

“And we will leave it to the Sabah leaders to decide for themselves. We can only give advice,” he said in a brief interview on Monday night (Jan 9).

Anwar, who arrived here from Jakarta at 9.40pm, held a one-hour discussion with the Sabah leaders behind closed doors at the Magellan Club.

It is believed that also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Sabah Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Following the meeting at Magellan Club, Anwar left for the chief minister’s official residence in Sri Gaya here, arriving at 11.20pm.
